Will CBS’s Extant Be Renewed For Season 2?

Published

on

Do you see Extant in your future? Can the sci-fi series, starring a huge movie star, make it to season 2? It’s looking like a 50/50 chance according to the producer Mickey Fischer.

Extant is considered a limited series, but it looks like it has enough storyline to continue into season 2. The question is, do the viewers want to keep tuning into the complex, serialized extra-terrestrial drama?

Fischer has said that he has enough to keep the series going, but if it meets it’s end after just one season, he promises a satisfying finale.

The show focuses on Molly, played by Halle Berry, as she returns from a 13-month solo space mission and finds out she’s pregnant.

There’s three more episodes left of season 1 and CBS has not made a decision regarding the future of the show.

The series hasn’t been a ratings powerhouse, which is why it might not be renewed. But, the ratings haven’t been bad either.

Extant debuted July 9 and attracted 9.58 million viewers. The 1.7 rating was amongst 18-49 demographic.

In two weeks, ratings took a moderate dip, which is pretty normal for a new series. Unfortunately, they continued declining in week three.

The show currently draws a consistent 1.0, with a little under 6 million viewers.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Extant? Should it be cancelled or renewed?

WATCH: The Town of “Riverdale” Gets Even More Murderous in Season 2

Riverdale Season 2 Comic Con Trailer

Riverdale is about to turn up the heat on the all the creepy murder in town.

And we’re here for it. ALL OF IT.

Jason Blossom’s death was gruesome but it was only the tip of the iceberg for the series.

Season 2 is bringing out murder for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It’s getting so intense, Jughead even introduces season 2 as the the season that “Riverdale’s innocence finally died.”

Um, what innocence?

His statement echoes that season finale cliffhanger – will Archie’s dad survive the gunshot?

The season 2 trailer that debuted at Comic Con set a much darker tone.

We see Archie, covered in blood, carrying Fred into the hospital.

“I came out of the bathroom and there was this man wearing a hood, with a gun at Pop Tate, and then he pointed it at my dad and fired, and then he…,” Archie says while trailing off, which leads Jughead to wonder, what he was going to say but didn’t.

Did he notice something about the identity of the shooter that Pops described as the “the angel of death coming to Riverdale?”

Is this mystery shooter supernatural? Is it Veronica Lodge’s dad – since Fred was sleeping with her mother.

That would cause quite the rift between Veronica and Archie.

And really, no ship will be safe with the introduction of Toni Topaz, a bisexual Serpent who befriends Jughead.

Of course, we can’t leave out the most deliciously creepy and “huh” moment – Cheryl comforting her mother who is all bandaged up.

Was she hurt in the fire that Cheryl started in the finale?

I also heard there might be an addition of werewolves so really, get ready.

Riverdale brings back the darkness and danger on October 11.

Watch Mandy Moore Transform Into Her 66-Year-Old “This Is Us” Character

This Is Us

The magic of TV makeup.

This Is Us was this year’s breakout hit for a few reasons, one of them being the superb cast and the emotional connection we feel to the Pearson family.

The series, if you haven’t seen it, switches between the past and the present, showcasing the characters through the decades.

Instead of using a different character to portray the older version of Rebecca, the series uses the power of makeup and some really good makeup artists to age her up.

Surprisingly, the use of the same actress makes the show that much more emotional.

Mandy Moore posted photos of her transformation into old Rebecca and I can safely I can safely say it’s the most fascinating and satisfying thing I’ve ever seen.

Can you imagine sitting through this process every single day!?

It all reminds me of that time I took a “Stage Makeup” class and was required to age myself using the power of contouring and highlighting.

More HERE!

It wasn’t an easy feat and took roughly 4 hours but here’s the finished product:

Obviously, it isn’t as impressive as Mandy’s glam squad but at least I know I’ll be a hot old lady!
