2014 Teen Choice Award Nominees First Wave

(ABC FAMILY/MATHIEU YOUNG)

Published

on

The nominees for The Teen Choice Awards 2014 are in! In the first wave of nominations, Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries take the lead scoring five nominations each, in just three categories!

TROIAN BELLISARIO, LUCY HALE, ASHLEY BENSON, SHAY MITCHELL

Pretty Little Liars will compete against ABC Family shows The Fosters, Twisted, Switched at Birth and the CW’s Hart of Dixie.

TVD obviously rules the SciFi category against ABC’s fairytale drama Once Upon A Time, FOX’s Sleepy Hollow, CW’s Arrow and MTV’s Teen Wolf. So in other words, this is a really difficult category.

For SciFi TV Choice actor, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley will be competing against each other, as well as against Joseph Morgan from The Originals. As for SciFi TV Choice actress, Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham go head-to-head against each other and The Originals Claire Holt.

Glee is nominated in the comedy category against The Big Bang Theory and Disney Channel’s Austin and Ally. Yeah, this is a really weird group of shows, but it’s obvious that young-skewing shows are taking the Teen Choice Awards by storm. As they should, I mean it’s called Teen Choice for a reason right?

As for movies, Veronica Mars the movie is nominated for three awards. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence and Shailene Woodley prove that they really do rule Hollywood. Lawrence is nominated for X-Men: Days of Future PastThe Hunger Games: Catching Fire and American Hustle. Woodley is nominated for The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent.

Another interesting movie category is for Movie Actor, which finds both Hemsworth brothers competing against each other. Liam Hemsworth for The Hunger Games, Chris Hemsworth for Thor: The Dark World. And if that isn’t awkward enough, Liam is also up against Josh Hutcherson of The Hunger Games. Yep, this will be fun to watch for sure. No hard feelings though, right?

Ian Somerhalder is nominated for male hottie (and should win). He’s competing agaisnt Austin Mahone (mmm mm no no), Zac Efron, Ryan Gosling and One Direction (cause their all obviously one person..). Surprisingly, there is no Justin Bieber in this category, nor in any of the music categories.

The Best Female Hottie nominees include Rihanna, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner and Bella Thorne. (Yes, you noticed correctly there is no Miley Cyrus here either). Doesn’t it feel like justice has been served?

The ceremony doesn’t air till August 10, which means there is still plenty of waves to be announced but take a little peek at this first one and see what you think. We’ve bolded our choices!

Saved by the Bell reboot reunites the OG cast

Back to Bayside High means celebratory milkshakes at The Max on us!

NBC’s streaming service Peacock announced that it renewed the Saved by the Bell revival for a second season. Peacock TV confirmed the news on Instagram.

The upcoming installment will feature 10-episodes and comes after the initial season proved to be a hit nearly three decades later!

“I’m thrilled that Saved by the Bell has been renewed,” executive producer Tracey Wigfield said in a statement.

“I’ve been blown away by all the love for the show and can’t wait to go back and make more episodes. Hopefully we stay on Peacock for many more seasons, and then in 30 years, somebody does a reboot of our reboot and invents the threeboot,” she said.

Both AC Slater (Mario Lopez) and Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) are back as series regulars, while Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Kelly Morris (Tiffani Thiessen) made recurring appearances.

Fans were even treated to surprise cameos from restaurant owner Max (Ed Alonzo) Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies).

The only two characters yet to make an appearance are Principal Richard Belding (Dennis Haskins) and Samuel “Screech” Powers (Dustin Diamond).

The news comes after Diamond announced that he has stage 4 cancer. Mario Lopez, who reprised his role of AC Slater in the revival, reached out to Diamond following the news.

“I connected with Dustin earlier this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he’ll overcome this. Praying for him & his family and for a speedy recovery. God Bless,” he wrote on Instagram.

TMZ noted that Diamond is currently in treatment.

‘This Is Us’ Not Airing Tonight – Here’s When New Episodes Will Return

Published

on

This Is Us a Hell of a Week Part 2 review

Sorry, This Is Us fans, but you won’t be tuning in for a new episode tonight!

NBC has pulled This Is Us Season 5 Episode 7 titled “There” from the schedule.

The episode was set to be heavily focused on Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley), who was in a car accident while trekking cross-country to be by Madison’s side as she gave birth to their twins.

The official synopsis reads: “Kevin embarks on a stressful road trip; Jack and young Kevin go to a football training camp.”

Google lists the new episode’s air date as Tuesday, February 2, but that has not been officially announced by the network!

In its place, NBC will air an encore of This Is Us Season 4 Episode 14 titled “The Cabin.”

The network did not provide a reason for the switch, but if we’re taking a wild guess, it either has to do with production reasons amid the coronavirus pandemic (many Los Angeles-based productions have been shutting down temporarily due to a surge in COVID cases) or because of pre-inauguration day coverage.

If the reason is production-related, delaying the episode might allow the network the air all the episodes in one solid batch instead of spreading them out.

All the #OneChicago shows – Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med – have also been delayed a week and will not air on Wednesday, January 20. The network will be covering president-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration instead. Episodes will return on Wednesday, January 27.

However, if you’re looking for something to watch, The Resident will air a brand new episode tonight (January 19) at 8/7c while Nancy Drew and Riverdale will premiere their second and fifth season, respectively, on Wednesday, January 27. We’ll have reviews for all three shows available for you at CraveYouTV.com after each episode concludes!
