American Horror Story: Freak Show- Edward Mordrake Pt. 2 (04×05)
“Save them from the freaks, the evil mean freaks.”
It was an episode full of stories, surprises, and deaths. I mean what else can you expect from AHS? Like I told you fellow freaks, it usually takes me a good 24-hours to process episodes.. mainly because of the “creepy” factor. I would watch them twice to get the full grasp, but I’m way too scared. This week we get the part two of the Edward Mordrake story. He is looking for additions to his own ghostly show.. at least I think. The way Mordrake picks his additions, reveals each characters story. This gave us a deeper look at our freaks and sheesh, they’ve all had some pretty rough stories. Suzy was born with a spinal condition, which resulted in the amputation of her legs. This was too much for her parents too handle so they left her on the doorstep of a children’s home. She ended up killing a man because she got jealous of his legs. Paul’s dreams were to only be in Hollywood, but his body didn’t really match the criteria. He eventually tattooed his whole body, leaving only his pretty face free, which could make him millions. They unfortunately didn’t make Mordrake’s cut and he said, next!
He moves on to Elsa, who screams that she isn’t a freak– that she feels and is normal and doesn’t belong there. She is also high so she probably doesn’t know whats going on. But, she must tell her story. She admits that she was a dominatrix back in Germany, referring to herself as a “star” making it clear the men never touched her. One night, she was drugged, tied and had her legs cut off by a chainsaw. The sounds of chainsaws always remind her of these times. Mordrake is very fond of her story and his second face wants her to join their ghost crew… until he heard the other performers stories.
Twisty the clown is next..and his reveal is something I wasn’t expecting it. I feel like in every season of AHS there is always that one character that is misunderstood. This time it’s Twisty. He started off s a happy clown in the 1940’s, who loved children and never got along with other freaks in the show. They drove him away by telling the cops he was inappropriate with children. He went back home only to discover his mother had died and he had no one in town. He turned a gun on himself, which shot off his mouth. That’s when he made it his mission to love kids, but kill their parents. Mordrake justifies what Twisty has done in his past making it seem like the parents deserved it. Twisty’s story makes the evil in Mordrake weep and he chooses him. He stabs him in the heart, killing the clown and adding him to the collection of dead freaks.
Twisty joins the ghostly troupe, but leaves behind Dandy. Dandy is the only one who has actually misses Twisty, and wears a freakish clown costume to prove it. He ends up slicing the maids neck, in memory of his fallen friend. Twisty is dead y’all, twisty is dead! !Let’s all process this together and possibly rejoice?
In other AHS news, Maggie and Jimmy had their first date on the episode, which goes to show Emma Roberts and Evan Peters must be dating in each series, no matter who they play.
Overall it was a great, spooky, episode. Happy Halloween freaks, until next time.

Forget Freddie, Jason, and Michael, Riverdale has the Black Hood, the Gargoyle King, and Edgar Evernever. Riverdale, a town best known by its nickname “murder capital of the world,” is filled with murder mysteries and serial killers, and you never know if what you’re watching is what’s really happening.
Haunting of House Hill – Netflix
There’s nothing scarier than moving into a creaky, old house with your five children. Add in that the house begins to have paranormal experiences that haunt the family simply looking to make a quick buck from a house-flip and you have one of the scariest shows on Netflix. Keep the lights on, you’ll need ‘em.
We hope you remember Ghostface because he’s back this time in a TV series adaptation of the horror film franchise. The MTV series centered around a brutal murder in Lakewood that stirs up memories of a crime spree from the past. The masked killer is out for blood and revenge and leads you on a fun and twisted game of whodunnit.
Your favorite sleuthing book detective has made her way to the small screen. Horseshoe Bay is a town plagued by unsettled and ghostly spirits, but one reigns supreme: Lucy Sable. The Seaqueen was murdered in 2000 and has become somewhat of an urban legend until Nancy and her friends, the Drew Crew, decided to solve her mysterious death when it intertwined with another, connected murder.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – Netflix
The series will leave you praising Satan! Sabrina Spellman lives on the other side of the Sweetwater River in Greendale, the neighboring town of Riverdale. Sabrina is a half-watch, half-mortal who finds herself fighting against dark forces from the occult that threatens her human world.
The Exorcist – FOX
If the film scared you, the series will give you nightmares. Angela Rance turns to Father Tomas Ortego, a church leader in Chicago, for help battling the evil emitting from inside their house and causing nightmares and psychotic breaks.
American Horror Story – FOX
The anthology series from Ryan Murphy finds each season diving into a new disturbing and gruesome storyline though the actors appear in multiple episodes as new characters. Many elements of the plot are pulled loosely from real events, which makes it even more terrifying. To help you get a general idea, “Murder House,” “Asylum,” “Coven,” “Freakshow,” and “Hotel” are all different seasons to indulge in… if you dare.
Black Mirror – Netflix
When I was a little girl, the Twilight Zone series terrified me, but Black Mirror amplifies the genre by “tapping into the collective unease about the modern world.” In short, it examines modern society through the lens of technology, and there’s nothing scarier than being hit with a dose of realism. Each episode is a stand-alone drama, so you don’t have to watch it all at once.
Tell Me A Story – CBS All Access
These aren’t the fairy tales you’re used to. The anthology series, hailing from The Vampire Diaries’ Kevin Williamson, is a dark and twisted take on your favorite fairy tales as they emphasize qualities like greed, lust, murder, and revenge. Season 1 digs into “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Three Little Pigs,” and “Hansel and Gretel,” while season 2 taps into “Beauty and the Beast,” “Sleeping Beauty” and “Cinderella.”
The Purge – FX
Based off a film of the same name, the TV series explores what happens to a society when murder and all crime becomes legal for a 12-hour period. Seemingly unconnected characters cross paths, but can they be trusted on Purge Night or are they all just playing the game?
Les Revenants (The Returned) – A&E Network
When a group of men, women, and children return home to their village, they’re met with confusion as they’ve been dead for several years. A series of murder coincide with their return that seem connected to a serial killer from the past.
From American Horror Story to American Horror Series.
Ryan Murphy, the creator behind the anthology series, is planning to tell more horror stories in a spinoff that he announced via Instagram.
He described the new anthology series “American Horror Stories,” as a “one hour contained” series.
While details aren’t aplenty, it seems as though its an extension of the world he’s already built with each episode serving as a standalone story and featuring familiar faces from the FX show.
Some of those cast members signing onto the project are likely Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Katy Bates, who were all on-hand for the Zoom meeting discussion to announce the project.
With AHS renewed for three more seasons, Murphy has a lot of his plate, and fans are still anticipating the 10th season of the series.
The Wrap reported that Murphy’s theme for season 10 may be scrapped as filming was very “weather-dependent,” and never got to happen since the coronavirus pandemic shut down production.
“Well I don’t know, because a lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one,” he revealed.
So, as you see, the fate of season 10 is very much murky and floating into the unknown. However, we have absolutely no worries because there’s bound to be some deeply terrifying ideas in Murphy’s mind to replace the current theme that’ll shake us to the core.
And, we always have his spinoff series to look forward to!
Ryan Murphy is taking some inspo from R. Kelly for the upcoming 7th season of American Horror Story.

The director revealed the show’s new theme…. drumroll, please…. CULT.
Ryan, who is super secretive about show themes, dropped clues leading up to the reveal on Instagram, which included creepy clowns, American flags, and a person being eaten alive by a hive of bees. Not creepy at all.
While fans still don’t really know what “Cult” signifies but in his announcement, Murphy asked fans to “join the cult.”
Here’s what we know so far:
- Twisty the Clown is back for the season.
- The season kicks off on election night, which explains all the American flags.
- Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton will be portrayed in some shape or form.
- Lena Dunham has joined the cast
- So did Billie Lourd
If I were to take a guess, I would say the series will be set in a colonial town and everyone will be blindly in a patriotic, pro-America cult.
And maybe the cult is run by clowns? I’m definitely getting Purge movie vibes!
I guess we’ll find out when the series debuts on Sept. 5!
