Charlie Hunnam Heartbroken About Fifty Shades of Grey Role

Published

on

Charlie Hunnam is heartbroken over Christian Grey…. well, over being Christian Grey.

The highly anticipated movie had fans racking their brains over who would play Mr. Grey after the trilogy sky-rocketed to popularity. When the casting was finally announced, the reactions were mixed. But a few days later, Charlie Hunam dropped out of the film adaptation and rumors were swirling that he was fired. Eventually we found out that it was because of his demanding Sons of Anarchy schedule and some family problems.

The leading role was quickly picked up Once Upon A Time star Jamie Dornan (and we’re not complaining). Some thought Hunnam just decided he didn’t want to be involved with the controversial, erotic movie. Now we’re finding out he’s actually heartbroken about losing the role!

“I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn’t have taken it on in the first place,” he told Life & Style magazine.

“When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it’s heartbreaking not to be able to play him. … It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life.”

Unfortunately, sometimes life has a different plan for us! Despite losing the role-of-a-lifetime, he admitted that he would support and see the movie when it opens in February.

“If they invite me to the premiere, I will go and see it there,” he said. “If not, I’ll go and buy some tickets on opening night.”

In the meantime, he’ll be filming the 7th and final season of the hit drama Sons of Anarchy.

Despite the heartbreak, Hunnam is confident Dornan will do well as the S&M obsessed millionaire.

I don’t really know his work,” Hunnam confessed to TMZ in November. “But I know director Same Taylor-Johnson is amazing. She has fantastic taste so I’m sure he’ll do a great job.”

As for Dornan’s big-screen debut as the highly sexual character, he admitted he doesn’t fear it at all. “None of it scared me,” Dornan told Entertainment Weekly.

Dancing with the Stars Season 29 premiere best tweets

Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) season 29 premiered tonight (September 14) with a pretty impressive lineup.

AJ McLean from Backstreet Boys, actress and real estate agent Chrishell Stause, and rapper Nelly all took the stage to show off their moves.

But all eyes were on Tiger King’s Carole Baskin! There’s no denying everyone was watching to see her debut!

I’d like to say that’s the craziest thing to happen in 2020, but unfortunately, the show is airing without an audience and with plenty of safety precautions including the judges sitting six-feet apart.

Oh, and Tyra Banks replaced Tom Bergeron, which didn’t sit well with many on Twitter.

Here are the best tweets from the premiere:

Dolls, it’s time to say goodbye to TV’s most popular family.

The Kardashian’s are putting an end to their long-running reality series that shot them to stardom.

Kim Kardashian made the announcement on social media by posting an old poster for the series. The rest of the family including Kris Jenner followed suit.

“To our amazing fans – It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up With the Kardashians. After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”

“Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience and, most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray, who’ve spent countless hours documenting our lives.”

“Our last season will air early next year in 2021,” she continued. “Without Keeping Up With the Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”
