Chicago Fire
Chicago Fire-Tonight’s The Night (2X13)
With Matt Casey still recovering from his accident (Not Like This-2X10) it was only a matter of time before his world starts breaking down. In the previous episodes prior to this one its proof enough that he couldn’t handle the pressure of working and being around people because of his condition and if I might point out a social anxiety. When Severide’s sister shows up at the firehouse she tells him that her boss is opening up a restaurant in NYC. This would also mean that she would have to move out there. However she wanted to stay and get to know her family and the guy she’s been dating Otis which happens to be his co-worker. When Dawson returns she talks with her co-workers and bar mates Otis and Herrmann about getting an upgrade on the bar they work on the side, Molly’s. Unfortunately there hasn’t been a clear decision made also they gained a new business partner their other co-worker Shay. When the firehouse gets a call to the far west side they found an electrical line destroyed by a hit and run driver. Before they could get the guy out of the car the line was cut leaving a fraction of the west side in the dark.
With the guy and the woman retrieved and recovered along with the section of the city now out of power, Chief Bowden allows the residence to stay at Firehouse 51 for shelter and a place to sleep. When they get back they try to adjust the furnace to make the place a little warmer. When Casey and Severide go to fix it Casey is having a bit of memory troubles with the tools and such. Severide is a little concerned and asks if he talked to anyone about his condition. But before they could get anywhere the furnace is up. Talk about hiding your troubles. Boden’s eyes perk up when his girlfriend Donna arrives. She said that the power’s out in her building too. Of course this gives him ample oportuninty to be with her during this time. Once people started settling in a fight breaks out between two civilians in the kitchen. One of which points a knife at Severide and tells him that he is after the brother of the victim who put his sister in a coma. The instigator, a punk named Vince Keeler, snags a knife and points it at Severide, a move he regrets after Severide easily disarms him and tosses him into the snow.
After things ease up, Detective Lindsay (Chicago PD) makes a visit to inform Boden, Casey and Severide on a Vince Keeler. He was the guy that Severide was fighting earlier. He happens to have a serious reputation and is making noise about killing a fireman tonight after his fight with Severide humiliated him. Meanwhile, Cruz taking over chef duties sends Clarke on an errand for more food at a local corner store, but while he’s gathering supplies in the stockroom, a couple of looters enter the store and stab the owner. Clarke scares them off with a bat and improvises a way to stop the bleeding. When the house gets a call to an CO2 incident, Dawson decides to help out Shay and Rafferty. However one decision made by Dawson ruffled some feathers with Rafferty and later calls her out on the fact that everyone talks about Dawson thinking she has big shoes to fill. Well her time to prove herself comes when someone inside the firehouse passes out.
Later, an older woman’s heart attack at the station leads to another collision between the ladies, only this time Dawson lets Rafferty run point. Once they revive the woman, Dawson gives Rafferty the credit and passes the EMT torch…or something along that line. Back at the corner store the owner appeared to be stable, that is until the thieves return with friends all armed and ready to fight off Clarke. Luckily, a couple of CPD officers came in time and took them down.
With the chaos somewhat contained, Detective Lindsay returns with another update – word is, Keeler’s got an inside man with sights on murdering Severide inside the station. She circulates a photo of the suspect and a thorough search turns up nothing that is until Casey notices the man walking away with one of his wrenches. Casey confronts him, but not before he takes a hard punch as Detective Lindsay draws her gun and detains him. When the power goes back up everyone heads for their homes. While Otis and Katie sneak off into the showers to make out, Boden and Shay stumble upon them…that sucks. Otis later seeks out Boden for an apology, except Otis finds the chief preoccupied in his office, ha revenge! At least Otis knows Boden won’t retaliate…I think.
The episode ends with Katie chats with Otis on the phone on her way to her apartment to meet up with him when she’s interrupted. Two guys put A sack over her head muffles her scream and before anyone can notice, she’s yanked off the sidewalk and tossed into a van.

Why Is Taylor Kinney Leaving ‘Chicago Fire’?

Shocking news Firehouse 51—Taylor Kinney is exiting Chicago Fire.
Deadline reported the news on Friday, Jan. 20, revealing that the actor, who anchors the show as Kelly Severide, will be taking a break from the series.
Kinney has been a staple on the Dick Wolf drama since its inception in 2012 and is a huge reason why the series has retained such a dedicated viewership.
While an official reason was not provided, and a rep for the show did not offer a comment, sources close to production told the outlet that Kinney is taking a “leave of absence” to deal with a personal matter. No word on what the situation is.
The cast and crew were reportedly informed of the leave right before the news broke, with the writer’s room likely having to rewrite scripts to accommodate the change.
It’s unclear whether this will be a permanent leave, nor is there any info about how he will be written out for now.
Kinney has not addressed the news himself as of writing.
This is the latest shocking exit in the #OneChicago world as Jesse Lee Soffer, who plays Jay Halstead on Chicago PD, exited earlier this season, while Brian Tee hung up his coat earlier this season on Chicago Med after portraying Ethan Choi since 2015.
