Everything to Know About the Original Shows & Movies Coming to Disney +

Disney+

Published

on

Disney+ is gearing up to take over the world, or, at the very least, provide stiff competition to other streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.

Launching November 12 in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands (and a week later in Australia and New Zealand), Disney’s streaming platform has already made lots of commotion in the entertainment world.

Those who scoffed at adding another streaming service are now re-thinking their stance after hearing Disney’s plans for programming.

Not only is Disney+ planning to offer classic films, but they’re also rebooting nostalgic favorites, and expanding the Marvel universe with several new shows, both animated and live-action.

Disney+ is bringing your childhood to life. For avid TV watchers, it’s the equivalent of going to Disney World or Disneyland.

While the Disney Channel markets with a focus on children, Disney+ is planning to entice children, millennials, and adults alike.

Best of all, their price-point is competitive and appealing. At $7 a month, it’s almost half of what Netflix is charging, and they’re even offering bundles with ESPN Plus and ad-supported Hulu for just $13, $5 less than what all three combined would cost.

It’s hard to continue hating on Disney+ when they have so much working in their favor.

Not convinced just yet? Let’s take a look at all the exciting original shows and films that will be hitting the platform!

2021-2022 TV Schedule: Find Out Which Shows Have Been Canceled or Renewed

We’re entering the season of refreshing the page to see if your favorite shows have been renewed for the upcoming 2021-2022 TV season.

Since COVID-19 affected production on many shows and delayed their premieres, the criteria for what gets the green light and what ends up on the chopping block has become more stringent this go-around.

As usual, The CW gave an early renewal for most of their shows including Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Walker, Batwoman, and more.

In a shocking twist, Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for season 18 along with sibling series Station 19.

Unfortunately, not every show shared the same fate as Prodigal Son on FOX was given the ax after two seasons.

Check out the list below to see which shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and The CW have been renewed, canceled, or on the bubble. (TBD means that a show has not yet gotten news about its upcoming season, so check back soon!)

WATCH: Freeform Drops 'The Bold Type' Fifth and Final Season Trailer

Raise a glass to the final season of The Bold Type.

Freeform unleashed a trailer for the final 6 episodes of the fashion-focused drama and things are heating up between old flames, while new ones are also on the horizon.

Kat is still trying to get over her problematic hook-up with Ava, while her ex, Adeena, is back in her life.

After a disagreement about children, Sutton and Richard ended their brief marriage. But it seems that all is not lost as the teaser shows them having trouble letting go (and still hooking up).

I have faith that Sutton and Richard will figure it out because they’ve always been #relationshipgoals.

Jane’s continuing to find her voice and is possibly, definitely developing feelings for a writer that’s “under her.”

WATCH: 'Stranger Things' Season 4 Trailer Focuses on Eleven's Past

A new promo for the upcoming Stranger Things Season 4 is putting the focus back on Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

Netflix released a new video, which dives into Eleven’s dark and heartbreaking past.

It also marks the return of her “papa,” Dr. Martin Brenner.

The craziest part is that it seems like Eleven isn’t the only supernatural child in Hawkins. Do they have the same powers as she does?

Or is this exploring her origin story? A shot of the door marked “11” indicates that this may be a look into the past.

Watch the teaser now:

As fans patiently wait for new episodes — which were delayed due to COVID — a former teaser revealed that Hopper is alive and a prisoner in Russia.

How do these two things connect?
