First Look: Saved By The Bell Pictures

Published

Think you know everything about Saved By The Bell? Wrong.

Lifetime’s The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story  is about to crush all of your 80’s memories. The  released  clip goes behind to scenes to show what it was really like on the set and what the relationship was like between our favorite Bayside High teens.  Hint: everyone apparently hated each other.

The first sneak peek clip (which unfortunately was removed from the Lifetime Youtube channel)  takes place at a photo-shoot, circa 1990, where all the cast members are fighting and bickering, while trying to maintain character.  Well, at least the actors portraying the actors of SBTB. The clip shows Lark upset with Mark and Tiffani for getting all the attention. Dustin is annoyed of Mario constantly showing off his buffness in between takes, while Elizabeth can’t stand Mario’s sweatiness.

The TV-movie stars Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth (Shameless) as Dustin Diamond, Julian Works (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) as Mario Lopez, Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Tiera Skovbye (Supernatural) as Elizabeth Berkleyand Taylor Russell McKenzie (Blink) as Lark Voorhies.

The movie is based loosely on Dustin Diamond’s tell-all memoir Behind the Bell. Diamond’s book recalls the apparent drama between cast members, plus reveals that there was a lot of drugs and sex behind the scenes.

Mark Paul Gosslear who portrayed Zach has spoken out about the inaccuracy of the book stating that he was not aware everyone hated each other and all he has are fond memories of his SBTB times. “It is negative. That I must say. Everything I’ve heard about his book is it is negative. I don’t remember those things. My experience on the show was very positive,” Gosslear said.

Gosslear’s Franklin and Bash co-star Breckin Meyer, also chimed in stating,  “I know Elizabeth, Tiffani and Mario and everyone has nothing but like awesome [things] to say about that except for Dustin.”

Directed by Saved by the Bell’s original casting director Robin Lippin, The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story hits airwaves September 1 at 9pm on Lifetime.

In the meantime, enjoy the exclusive photos from the set! Although, I’m kind of upset with the casting. Aside from Mark, Dustin and Lark, the other’s look nothing like the characters their portraying. Although Dustin is a dead ringer for Screech, don’t you think? But come on, you couldn’t cast a better Tiffani Amber Thiessen? Kelly Kapowski deserves better. So does Slater…. I mean, what’s with that face?

‘Virgin River’ Announces Season 2 Premiere Date Just in Time for the Holidays!

Virgin River Season 2 announced

Season 2 of Virgin River officially has a premiere date!

The Netflix drama will return less than a year after the first season debuted on Dec 6, 2019.

Fans can catch up with Mel, Doc, and Jack Sheridan on Friday, November 27th! If you think about it, it’s the perfect day for a feel-good show to premiere as everyone will be sitting at home stuffed after Thanksgiving dinner. And since Black Friday sales are going virtual to tame the spread of COVID, less shopping gives everyone ample time to kick up their feet and binge-watch!

Virgin River season 1 focused on Mel (played by This Is Us‘ Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner who moved from LA to a remote Northern California town who was forced to face her past and grieve before being able to call Virgin River home.

If You Loved ‘Sweet Magnolias,’ You’re Going to Want to Check Out ‘Virgin River’

Season 2 teases: “Engagement. Babies. Heartbreak. Murder. For a small town, Virgin River has its fair share of drama — and Mel Monroe is often in the middle of it.”

Yep, we can’t wait.

Also returning for season 2 are Annette O’Toole, Lauren Hammersley, Colin Lawrence, and Grayson Gurnsey. Sarah Dugdale will join the cast as Lizzie.

While there isn’t a full trailer of the upcoming season, the Netflix November lineup video shows some great snippets:
