Hallmark Gives Lori Loughlin the Boot

Fuller House/ Netflix

Things aren’t looking so hot for Aunt Becky right now.

The internet was downright shocked when it was revealed that Lori Loughlin was involved in a college admissions cheating scandal.

Aunt Becky? The angelic motherly figure from our childhood?

If Aunt Becky is being shady it doesn’t leave much hope for the rest of the world.

It’s been a whirlwind 48-hours for Loughlin who was in Canada when the cops showed up at her door with an arrest warrant.

She turned herself in shortly after landing in LA, paid her $1 million dollar bail, and subsequently lost her contract with Hallmark.

Crown Media announced that it will no longer work with the actress in any capacity.

Loughlin currently stars as a series regular on the period drama When Calls the Heart and is also a regular in their holiday movie programming.

“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations,” reads a statement obtained by TVLine. “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”

No word on whether or not Netflix is going to cut ties with Loughlin though their situation is a bit different as the fifth and final season of Fuller House has already wrapped.

The cast of Fuller House has remained tight-lipped about the whole situation.

If it seems like Loughlin’s career blew up overnight (and not in a good way) that’s because it has.

She’s being accused of allegedly taking part in a larger scheme involving other parents who paid bribes of up to $6 million to get their kids into elite colleges.

Loughlin’s husband, Mossimo Giannulli, is also involved as is Desperate Housewives’ Felicity Huffman.

Loughlin and Giannulli allegedly paid $500k as “donations” to ensure their daughters would be accepted to the University of Southern California as crew recruits.

As you imagine, neither girl participated in the sport.

The fallout is also affecting Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade, who is losing lucrative deals because of her mother and father’s scandal.

Sephora ended its makeup partnership with the Youtube star writing

As for her daughter, Olivia Jade, Sephora just cut ties with her, “After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately.”

Seems like Loughlin’s efforts to help her daughter succeed backfired big time.

Will There Be a Season 4 of ‘Big Sky’?

Big Sky review Family Matters Season 2 Episode 17

Big Sky ended on a high note on Wed, Jan. 18, wrapping up a whirlwind season filled with murder, mystery, and deception.

And naturally, fans are already craving more, especially as each season of the series delves into a new storyline centered in Helena, Montana, and involving Dewell & Hoyt’s Cassie Dewell and Jenny Hoyt.

As of now, ABC has not renewed Big Sky for a fourth season, and it may be months before we get any insight into the matter.

In terms of ratings, the series kept steady with 2.4 million viewers and a 0.2 demo, which means ABC could go either way with their decision.

The fact that they brought in the big guns like Reba McEntire and Jensen Ackles for this season likely means the network believes in the series—and it’s hard to argue with the dedicated fanbase that has stuck around through every twisted and over-the-top plot.

The third season wrapped up many lingering storylines, giving fans closure to the mystery plaguing the season, however, there’s always more to explore when it comes to the dynamics between the core characters. And something tells me, there’s no shortage of criminal activity in Helena.

While Cassie and Cormac finally made things official, fans were likely hoping to see a bit more romance for Jenny and Ackles’ Beau. The show has been toying with their chemistry, sparking a “will they or won’t they” debate, but when it finally came down to solidifying their relationship, they left it open-ended. While it may have been frustrating to fans, it’s likely the show’s hope that it’s enough to convince ABC to green light another season to allow them to explore these relationships further.

When TV Insider asked Ackles if he’d return for a fourth season, he explained, “I don’t know. They haven’t even picked up the show yet for Season 4, so I don’t know if anybody’s coming back for Season 4 yet. That’s above my pay grade.”

However, he added, “But if they do decide to pick up a Season 4 — which I would hope they would, I think the show’s really great, and I think it’s got a lot of story left to tell — I don’t know. They had me for one season. They were probably like, well, let’s just bring him in for one, and we’ll see how it goes, and then we’ll go from there. So they’re waiting to hear what happened with the show, and then they’ll probably talk to [showrunner] Elwood [Reid] and try to figure out what to do with the characters, those that are returning and those that they want to return.”

Seems promising!

Once ABC gives the word—we’ll update this post accordingly. In the meantime, don’t be shy, read our review of the Big Sky Season 3 finale right here.

Why Is Taylor Kinney Leaving ‘Chicago Fire’?

Published

Shocking news Firehouse 51—Taylor Kinney is exiting Chicago Fire.

Deadline reported the news on Friday, Jan. 20, revealing that the actor, who anchors the show as Kelly Severide, will be taking a break from the series.

Kinney has been a staple on the Dick Wolf drama since its inception in 2012 and is a huge reason why the series has retained such a dedicated viewership.

While an official reason was not provided, and a rep for the show did not offer a comment, sources close to production told the outlet that Kinney is taking a “leave of absence” to deal with a personal matter. No word on what the situation is.

The cast and crew were reportedly informed of the leave right before the news broke, with the writer’s room likely having to rewrite scripts to accommodate the change.

It’s unclear whether this will be a permanent leave, nor is there any info about how he will be written out for now.

Kinney has not addressed the news himself as of writing.

This is the latest shocking exit in the #OneChicago world as Jesse Lee Soffer, who plays Jay Halstead on Chicago PD, exited earlier this season, while Brian Tee hung up his coat earlier this season on Chicago Med after portraying Ethan Choi since 2015.

Is ‘The Resident’ Renewed for Season 7? Here’s What We Know

The Resident Recap The Chimera Season 6 Episode 7

The Resident aired its sixth season finale on Monday, January 17.

And naturally, that means fans are asking questions about a potential season 7, including whether or not the show has been renewed already.

As of January 18, 2023, FOX has not renewed The Resident for a seventh season.

But how likely is another season?

The series saw about 2.9 million viewers and a 0.4 rating, which makes it one of the highest-viewed episodes this season, but is it enough to guarantee a save?

In my review, I pointed out that while I’m gunning for another season as I love the cast and all the drama that goes down at Chastain, it did feel as though the writers weren’t confident that they would get another season as every loose end got tied up and all the characters found their happy ending.

In fact, TVLine asked creator Amy Holden Jones if it was intentional on their part, to which she responded, “We do this every year. Last year’s worked as a series finale also, but thankfully, it wasn’t to be. We left open questions and put new character arcs in place to launch us into Season 7.”

While I do think other seasons definitely had some lingering cliffhangers, it’s definitely a smart approach, especially as she added that they “never hear until May.”

And that means fans of the hospital drama may have to wait several months before they find out if FOX is willing to give Chastain’s finest the green light for yet another season.

When TVLine pressed Jones for any additional information about a possible renewal, she explained that she has “not gotten any indication” either way.

“Losing a cast like this one seems insane to me, but corporate decisions are a mystery,” she added. Let’s hope that FOX doesn’t make any insane decisions and that it renews both The Resident and The Cleaning Lady soon enough!
