9 TV Shows to Watch After Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is a time for reconnecting with friends and family and indulging in some delicious meals.

But after all the turkey, sides, and pie is cleared off the plate, the only acceptable activity is binge-watching some feel-good TV shows.

Here are some post-Thanksgiving dinner show suggestions:

Virgin River

You’ll be just as surprised as Mel to fall in love with the picturesque town of Virgin River. Come for the views, stay for Jack.

Hart of Dixie

Dr. Zoe Hart arrives in Alabama looking for a fresh start and learns that the Southern way of living might actually be what’s best for her.

Gilmore Girls

An unbreakable mother and daughter bond, a charming town that would make any Lifetime movie jealous… plus, an unspoken love for coffee? Say no more.

Selena + Chef

You might know her as a Disney Channel actress and pop star, but now, she’s adding chef to her resume. And since Thanksgiving is all about food, this is one show you don’t want to pass up.

The Cleaning Lady

You might think it’s odd that a mafia crime drama made the list, but at its core, the series is about family and how far two dedicated and loving moms would go for their family. It’s a thrill from beginning to end!

Walker

The modern-day update to the Chuck Norris classic hones in on family above everything, with a side of roundhouse kicks.

A Million Little Things

A group from Boston bond under the unlikeliest of circumstances and get a much-needed wake-up call following the death of a close friend.

La Brea

Though it falls into the “sci-fi mystery” category, La Brea hinges on a family determined to find their way back to each other despite all the obstacles standing in their way and all the sacrifices needed to be made.

Dream Home Makeover

If there’s ever a time to get inspired for a home makeover, it’s after the holidays (and during Black Friday when everything is on sale!) And the McGee family is the cherry on top!

This Is Us

This is… a no-brainer. No show captures the essence of what it means to be a complicated, loving, flawed, and fulfilled family more than this NBC drama.

Your Guide to All the Must-Watch Christmas Movies of 2022

When the weather outside is frightful, holiday rom-coms are surely delightful.

There’s a reason why those predictable Hallmark-esque movies continue to be a holiday tradition—there’s nothing better than cozying up on the couch with some hot cocoa (or Gluhwein) and getting lost in the magic of the season.

And since there are so many good Christmas 2022 movies to choose from, we put together this little movie guide to help you so that you don’t miss any of the holiday goodness!

Fa la la la—enjoy!

Falling for Christmas (Netflix) – Nov 10

Lindsay Lohan triumphantly returns to the screen in this original Netflix rom-com, which hit the streamer on Nov. 10. In the flick, the Mean Girls star is a newly engaged heiress who suffers an accident at a ski resort and must figure out her identity with the help of, you guessed it, a charming hunk. The film is the first of two-projects that Lohan has secured for Netflix. Her other film, Irish Wish, is set to premiere in 2023.

Christmas with the Campbells (AMC+ and in theaters) – Dec 2

Brittany Snow will star in the upcoming holiday romantic comedy alongside Justin Long. Snow stars as Jess, who is dumped right before the holidays by her boyfriend Shawn (Alex Moffat) but is convinced by his parents to still spend the holidays with them and Shawn’s cousin (Long) while he’s away. While we expect feelings to develop, thing take a turn when a blast from the past, played by Sweet Magnolias’ JoAnna Garcia Swisher, arrives with her sights set on him. Co-writer Vince Vaughn called it almost a parody of the Hallmark movies.

Christmas With You (Netflix) – Nov 17

Aimee Garcia is Angelina, a pop star that escapes from her daily life to grant a young fan’s wish in small city, where she finds inspiration for the career burn out she’s feeling and even finds herself smitten with a new love,  played by Freddie Prinze Jr.

Hotel for the Holidays (Amazon’s Freevee) – Dec 2

Riverdale’s Madeline Petsch is Georgia, the manager of a high-end hotel whose guests for the season include heartbroken singles, an infamous pop star, and a European ex-prince who recently abdicated his throne. As they look for an escape from their everyday lives, Georgia finds herself entangled in the madness and in a love triangle with the hotel chef and the ex-prince!

The Noel Diary (Netflix) – Nov 24

Kevin Pearson, er, Justin Hartley is a best-selling author who returns home for Christmas and is forced to sort out his mother’s estate. When he finds a diary, he’s “led down a path of self-discovery.”

A Christmas Story Christmas (HBO Max) – Nov 17

Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) is back and he’s all grown up! In the sequel to the holiday favorite, he must deal with all things Christmas, this time as a dad.

A Country Christmas Harmony (Lifetime) – Nov 18

Calling all Sweet Magnolia fans! Brooke Elliott and Brandon Quinn reunite in this rom-com about a country music star who returns to her hometown to perform a live Christmas concert where she runs into her ex-boyfriend/former music duo partner. “After a tempestuous rainstorm forces the ex-sweethearts to seek shelter in Luke’s ranch home, the two realize that the only way they’ll survive the holidays is with the other’s help.”

Spirited (Apple TV) – Nov 18

Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer appear in this retelling of A Christmas Carol. Ferrell stars as the Ghost of Christmas Present, who selects one dark soul on Christmas Eve to be reformed by three spirits, but when he picks the wrong Scrooge, Clint Briggs (Reynolds), forces the ghostly host to examine his own past, present, and future.

11 Best Spooky Halloween TV Shows to watch 2021

With Halloween stretching the month of October, you might find yourself looking for a spooky show to add to your rotation.

We’ve compiled a list of shows that will send a shiver down your spine on a breezy fall night.

Just be sure to leave the night light on… you know, to scare away any bad spirits or witches.

Nancy Drew – (The CW)

When it comes to TV mysteries, no one does it better than Nancy Drew. The writers deliver compelling mysteries with unexpected twists while maintaining the integrity of the plot and developing well-rounded, relatable, and likable characters in the process. And the cheap thrills aren’t so bad either.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – 4 Seasons (Netflix)

Her name is Sabrina Spellman, and she is a half-witch, half-mortal trying to retain her human side while also learning all there is to know about her coven and the Dark Lord. This isn’t the teenage witch you remember, but it’s the one you’ll want to befriend.

Fear Street – a Film Trilogy Event (Netflix)

The three-parter, based on the writings of R.L. Stine, is set in three centuries: 1666, 1978, and 1994 and finds friends taking on evil forces after a series of slayings.

Scream – 3 Seasons (MTV and VHI)

Based on the 1996 slasher film of the same name, the anthology series revives a dangerous killer by the name of Ghostface.

YOU – (Netflix)

An obsessive stalker named Joe Goldberg sets his sights on his next muse (and victim)… you. The series explores how far he’s willing to go for love.

Big Sky – (ABC)

Private detectives Cassie Dewell and Jenny Hoyt investigate crimes and murders in Helena, Montana.

Dr. Death – (Peacock)

Based on the hit podcast and inspired by the chilling true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a charismatic doctor who opens up a neurosurgery practice in Texas. But things take a grisly turn when patients going in for routine spinal surgeries leave permanently disabled or dead.

Nine Perfect Strangers – (Hulu)

Nicole Kidman stars in the series based on The New York Times best-selling book by Liane Moriarty (also the author of Big Little Lies!). Kidman stars as a retreat director who hopes to better nine strangers and transform their lives. It’s trippy, chaotic, and a little unnerving.

Only Murders in the Building – (Hulu)

Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez star as three true crime-obsessed strangers who find themselves piecing together the event of a murder mystery that occurs at their Upper West Side apartment building. What more could you want?

I Know What You Did Last Summer – (Amazon Prime)

In this remake of the classic 1997 teen slasher, a group of teenagers is stalked by a mysterious killer a year after they are involved in a fatal accident on the night of their graduation that they swear to keep a secret.

Ghosts -(CBS)

Halloween doesn’t always have to be scary. The single-camera sitcom, adapted from the British one of the same name, finds Sam and Jay moving into a mansion left to her by her great-aunt. After a brush with death, she begins to see dead people aka the spirits trapped inside the home, and must find a way to live in unison with them.
