The bad news is that Riley is definitely dead.

Part of me was still holding out hope that after she dragged herself through half the island, she would find some help and pull through.

Even when I saw Clara dragging her body into the cave, I thought that maybe she’d survive.

Alas, that wasn’t her fate.

But was Clara her killer? It’s hard to tell. Clara definitely had her quirks, but it seems as though I Know What You Did Last Summer Season 1 Episode 7 cleared her as the murderer.

Don’t get me wrong — the public still thinks that Clara is very much responsible, but the audience saw her in a new, creepy light performing rituals on both Lennon and Riley’s bodies to ensure a smooth transition to the afterlife.

Maybe she was just odd?

Lyla was clearly disturbed by what she witnessed, especially when she saw Clara was dead alongside Riley in the cave.

In the final moments, Dylan confessed to her murder right after Lennon slept with him and then confided in him that she was actually Alison.

Big mistake. Dylan did not take it well at all and basically blamed all the bad things he’s done on her secret.

Alison was obviously feeling very vulnerable and thought she could trust Dylan, but honestly, how did she expect this conversation to go?

That’s a huge thing to drop on someone regardless of the amount of trust built up.

Dylan has obviously had a hard time with what they did, particularly because he personally felt guilty about it. Not even about the covering up the murder part, but just about the fact that Alison was walking down that road by herself because he slept with Lennon.

Of course, there’s also the slight fact that Margot might be right about Dylan being the killer. He’s been sketchy at every turn.

We know he’s capable because he killed Carla, he works on a goat farm (the goat head in Lennon’s closet, and it may or may not be a coincidence that Margot was pushed out of her house shortly after he learned about Alison’s secret.

All signs point to Dylan, though, which is probably why he isn’t the killer.

In slasher’s, it’s never the person you expect.

Who pushed Margot? Could it have been Kyle? Lennon had so many secrets maybe they were somehow involved!

I’m actually surprised Dylan was shocked to learn that Lennon is actually Alison. Since the first few episodes, I thought that he always knew the truth and was simply playing along.

I have this other theory that Dylan is Lennon and Alison’s sibling, which makes their whole romantic relationship really disturbing.

Think about it — Dylan’s moms are free-spirited so they could easily belong to a cult.

Lennon and Stella’s father was in a cult, and he was married to Carla at some point.

There’s just a lot of cult-action at play that I could see it being a thing.

Maybe that’s why when Lennon called her dad, he told her to leave the “Dylan thing” up to him. Maybe he can get through to Dylan because that’s his son?

Margot miraculously survived her fall, but it’s unclear who pushed her. The list of suspects is dwindling and is really down to Dylan and Bruce.

Bruce was at the top of my suspect’s list since he gave Johnny a strange look while he was talking to Lennon and ended up dead shortly after. Plus, he obviously knows what they did last summer and knew where Clara would be hiding out. He also didn’t seem all that shocked when Lennon told him everything that’s been happening.

Bruce has a lot of secrets. Also, did anyone catch his accent in one of the scenes? Why was it there? Is he a twin too? Are we not seeing the same Bruce?

Okay, that’s a stretch, but the accent really did throw me off, so I had to point it out.

Anyway, Bruce met up with Lennon and Alison’s mother, who looks nothing like I imagined.

She’s back in town after Lennon reached out and sent her Alison’s obit, but what does she really want?

The whole town thinks she committed suicide, so that’s going to be a rude wake-up call.

The episode ended with Margot and Lennon spending the night together. As she dozed off, she ran her fingers across Lennon’s thig scars and muttered “you have them too.” Does she know that Lennon is actually Alison? Or was she referring to her own scars?

And finally, is Dylan going to the police to tell them the truth about Lennon? Or is he going to turn himself in?

What did you think of the episode?

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Reboot Hooks You In With An Unexpected Twist

Nothing bonds a group of friends like a murder on the eve of graduation.

With YOU and the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer premiering on the same day, spooky season is off to an epic start.

The first four episodes dropped on Amazon Prime on October 15, with the remainder premiering weekly. The series is a modern take of the slasher thriller helmed by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Geller two decades ago.

However, this version only has one thing in common with the original other than the title — it loosely adopts the premise of a group of teens covering up a murder and being haunted and hunt for it a year later.

For this review, I’ll focus on the first two episodes — the pilot titled “It’s Thursday” and the follow-up titled “It’s Not Just for Dog Shit” — which didn’t waste any time kicking the action into high gear.

Admittedly, the first half of the pilot was a little hazy, likely due to all the drugs and drinking at the party.

Plenty of unfamiliar yet good-looking characters were thrown our way, and it was a little hard to grasp who was who other than a group of soulless and obnoxious privileged teens, which makes it hard to root for them.

It was also pretty strange that parents were in attendance at this rave-like party and doing TikTok dances with their influencer teens, but I digress.

However, they don’t stay one-dimensional characters for long as the year-long gap allows them to mature and even show remorse at what they’ve done. It’s clear the deaths won’t just be for shock factor, but rather, a pivotal part in unraveling the storyline and the truth.

And despite being polar opposites, it didn’t help that it was nearly impossible to tell Lennon and Allie (Madison Iseman) apart save for the necklace from their late mother.

Again, that was likely the whole point as it lead to the juicy plot twist: the group of teens didn’t kill Lennon, they killed Allie who then assumed her broken yet popular sister’s identity upon covering up the murder.

After hitting “Allie” who was really party girl Lennon with the car, the teens left her in the same cave where her mother committed suicide and let the tide take care of it.

It’s a shakeup from typical slasher flicks that has the potential to take the storyline in several compelling directions and offer more substance than a two-hour movie ever could.

There were a few surprising twists, aside from the twin switch, that hooked you in (sadly, no hook-wielding, rain-jacket wearing villain here!).

A year after the murder, Lennon returns to town after her first year of college only to realize that she’s being taunted by someone who snuck into her house and left a bloody goat head in her closet along with the confession “I know what you did last summer” written in pink on her mirror.

Lennon tries to shrug it off as a sick prank, but obviously, we know better.

With the first kill gruesome kill in the books — poor Johnny, it was nice knowing ya! — it’s time to pinpoint some potential suspects as the show takes on the vibe of another classic slasher Scream

  • The woman at the cliffs is the only witness. Is this Carla who Lennon saw while visiting Dylan a year later? She looked pretty familiar. Or could this be their mother who is somehow still alive and living in the caves? They made it a huge point to emphasize that she died along with her “cult.”
  • Lennon’s father may not be a saint after all. Since he immediately knew that Allie came home instead of Lennon, she broke down and told him everything. Instead of turning her in and losing two daughters, he helped her cover it up so that it looked like Allie ran away. While that may seem like good dad behavior, after the first kill, we see him cleaning a shovel that looks awfully like the murder weapon. He also gave Johnny a menacing look earlier in the episode when he thought the teen may have figured out that Lennon was Allie. How far would he go to keep his daughter’s secret?
  • Courtney. Did you see the way she flung that possum or whatever? Enough said. Also, there’s just something off about her.
  • Dylan may have been at the scene of the crime that night, but his whole speech about karma while setting up salt licks to feed the goats was suspect. Maybe it’s the ketamine?
  • Dale. He drove by that night so he can place all of them, plus, he just strikes me as a strange human.
  • Since all of these are kind of obvious, maybe it’s also the Chief of Police, who is sleeping with Lennon’s dad?

The reboot might not have much in common with the original film, but that isn’t always a bad thing.

It’s fun to breathe fresh life into a slasher to throw off the audience. The first two episodes showed just enough of their cards to convince us to deal another hand.

Let’s be honest, if we wanted a retelling of the original, we could always just watch it on VHS! There’s a reason why reboots continously find an audience. With this one, you get exactly what you signed up for.

WATCH: Amazon Resurrects 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' with New Trailer

Amazon Prime is resurrecting ’90s franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer as a YA drama.

The premise is simple: a group of teens accidentally kill someone and think they’ve covered it up until the blackmailing begins.

Of course, these days, what should be a straightforward slasher flick reads more like Euphoria in hopes of attracting a younger fanbase.

“One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town — and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly,” the logline reads.

Will horror fans sink their teeth into it?

While I’m not overly hooked by the trailer, I don’t judge a book by its cover, so I’ll definitely be adding this to my binge list, especially since it premieres on October 15, just in time for spooky season.
