Things are getting messy in the monarchy as we near the season finale of The Royals. We’ve gone from sex and drugs to a murder mystery and a whole lot of plotting and backstabbing for the crown.
DNA tests prove that Liam and Eleanor aren’t the King’s children, which means, Prince Cyrus is now prince regeant and next in line for the throne. It’s so disgusting to see such a horrible man get so much power and abuse it in such a way.
He automatically takes away Liam and Eleanor’s security detail claiming they aren’t in danger because they are no longer heirs to the throne. This is however not true because like Eleanor, I think the DNA tests were a lie. This was all part of Cyrus and Helena’s plan to take over the throne. They feared the King would dismantle the monarchy and what would they do? For someone who did so many drugs and dubbed herself party girl of England, Eleanor is actually pretty smart.
She confronts her mother about what she thinks happened. That she had Robert and dad killed in order to keep the crowns and the pillows, but she tells her Robert committed suicide. Turns out, that’s a lie.
The guy who security sees lurking around in front of the palace and who Helena and Cyrus want to frame for the King’s attack turns out to be ex-military and Robert’s killer. He confronts Eleanor in the elevator after she leaves the hospital and asks her to meet him tomorrow (next weeks episode) at 12 under a bridge if she wants to know the truth about her brother. He also tells her not to trust anyone in the palace, which is totally legit. Will we find out that Helena was behind Robert’s murder? Would she stoop that low? Or by don’t trust anyone does he mean Jasper? Cause I would hate for Jasper to be a part of something like this.
Meanwhile, Liam spent most of this weeks episode drinking away his sorrows at a bar and talking to his imaginary father. Yeah, people must be really glad he didn’t become the king right? Like why is this guy talking to himself? He eventually starts stuff with the bartender who kicks his ass, but buys him a beer for being strong and picking himself up. He continues to ignore all of Ophelia’s phone calls and even falls asleep outside in the rain drunk.
It’s sad because no one in the palace cares about where Liam is except Ophelia. His mother is like yeah w.e I’m the queen, Gemma believes he’ll come back when he’s ready, plus she’s in cahoots with his mother already. No one really cares… and he’s pushing away the one person who does, who didn’t even get to New York for her dance company because she chose love over career. Probably a dangerous move at this point.
As for Helena, I cannot quite seem to figure her out. First she asks Cyrus if they went to far, obviously admitting she had something to do with her husbands attack. Then she screws over her own children, but is sad that they’re mad at her. Yet, she’s ok looking like a whore queen in front of England. Then she brings in the dude from the anti-monarchy group and strikes a deal with him that if the King and Cyrus both die, she will become queen of England and dismantle the monarchy after her reign and let him take the credit. So, is she plotting to kill Cyrus? I’m down with that. And when his dimwit daughters tell him about it, he confronts the queen, who tells him she knows where he was the night of the attack and he seems surprised. Well duh… obviously she would know if they were working on taking out the king together right? I’m legit so confused!
What do you think will happen in the season finale? Will Eleanor find out the truth? Will she kill Cyrus? She did threaten him after he banned her from seeing her father after all. Will Liam get back on his feet and help his sister? Will they take down Cyrus and their mother? What will happen with him and Ophelia? And most importantly, will the King live? I really need him too! Although the good always die….
The Royals – With Mirth in Funeral and With Dirge in Marriage (4×10)
It’s a wedding fit for the Royals.
In other words, The Royals Season 4 Episode 10 was the culmination of Queen Helena, Cyrus and Liam’s master plan to take down Robert once and for all.
I’ll be honest; there are only a handful of TV episodes that I’ve watched where I’ve felt pure anxiety throughout the whole hour. “With Mirth in Funeral and With Dirge in Marriage” shot up to the top of the list.
The Royals – Foul Deeds Rise (4×09)
The Royals – In The Dead Vast and Middle of the Night (4×08)
Before a royal wedding, there’s a royal bachelorette and bachelor party.
But on The Royals Season 4 Episode 8, neither event went as planned.
Despite her objections, Eleanor and Queen Helena threw Willow a “hen party” complete with massages, champagne and a chocolate fountain. Sounds relaxing, right?
