Kristen Bell is known for her comedic chops, but she’s dabbling a new genre come 2022.

“The Good Place” actress will star as Anna in a dark comedy thriller on Netflix.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming series “The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.”

What’s It About?

The series focuses on the heartbroken lead who lives everyday the same way — staring out her window and watching life pass her by while she sips her wine.

All of that is flipped upside down when her handsome neighbor moves in across the street and she witnesses a murder… or does she? Does someone want her to forget? Did she imagine it? Are they the hallucinations?

We’re already totally invested.

Is there a Trailer?

YES! Glad you asked. The teaser is intoxicating and shows exactly why Bell was the right choice for the role!

Check it out below:

Who Else Is in the Series?

Well, there’s Bell. Other cast members include: Michael Ealy, Tom Riley, Mary Holland, Cameron Britton, Samsara Yett, Christina Anthony, and Benjamin Levy Aguilar.

How Long is the Series?

The season consists of eight, 30-minute episodes. You know what that means? They’re easily binge-able with your glass of wine!

Why Does It Sound So Familiar?

It parodies Amy Adams’ thriller “The Woman in the Window” and the 2016 film “The Girl on the Train.”

When Does It Premiere?

The show hits Netflix on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022!

Is There Going to be a Second Season?

While it’s crafted as a limited-series that doesn’t necessarily mean that a second season is out of the question. After all, Big Little Lies was also a limited-series. Never say never!

Will There Be Season 3 of Mistletoe Murders—What We Know

A rewatch of Mistletoe Murders before the third season premieres is a must.

But fans who don’t have the Hallmark Channel are about to get a new way to watch the first few seasons.

The Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney-led show just got a new streaming home on Netflix!

Here’s everything we know!

When Will Mistletoe Murders Stream on Netflix?

Mistletoe Murders is following in the footsteps of The Way Home and coming to Netflix.

The streaming deal proved to be extremely promising for the small-time time-traveling show, introducing it to a wider audience that fell in love with the characters and storyline. Hallmark hopes history repeats itself with the holiday whodunit.

Just days before the third season premieres on the Hallmark Channel, Mistletoe Murders’ first two seasons will be calling Netflix home starting Nov. 1, 2026.

What Is Mistletoe Murders About?

Per the Hallmark Channel’s synopsis, “Emily Lane is a good-natured Christmas shop owner with a secret past. When local murders begin to pop up in Fletcher’s Grove, Emily can’t help but to use her unique talents from her past life to help solve murders that affect people in her new life. She crosses paths with Detective Sam Wilner who she starts to make a connection with, until he comes to learn there is more to Emily than meets the eye.”

When Does Mistletoe Murders Season 3 Premiere?

Season 3 of Mistletoe Murders premieres on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 8/7c on the Hallmark Channel.

The new season will pick up following the explosive cliffhanger of season 2, which brings Emily’s hacker ex, Aaron (played by Aaron Ashmore), into the fold. Additionally, Good Witch fans will be happy to see Catherine Bell arriving in Fletcher’s Grove as a “mysterious and less-than-sweet character,” who appears in the first two episodes.

The Way Home - When Will Season 3 Arrive on Netflix?

The Way Home wrapped up its fourth and final season this summer, on June 21, 2026, on the Hallmark Channel.

Now, three months later, fans who first heard of the show when it was added to Netflix will be able to stream the final season.

When Is The Way Home Season 4 Coming to Netflix?

The Way Home Season 4 is officially available on Netflix starting today, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026.

Fans can stream all 10 episodes in the final installment to find out how it all ends for the three generations of Landry women!

If you want to read our review, you can find it right here—but be warned, it contains plenty of spoilers!

Will There Be a The Way Home Season 5?

Sadly, there is no news about a fifth season of The Way Home.

Many hoped that after Hallmark prematurely cancelled the series, which was intended to run five seasons, Netflix would swoop in and save it, especially after it got such a huge boost following its addition to the streamer.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any confirmation that Netflix is interested in another season—though the cast has expressed interest if the opportunity presented itself.

Maybe following the success of season 4 on Netflix, the streamer will have a change of heart?

You can see what the creators had in mind for a fifth season right here.

Main Cast of The Way Home

  • Andie MacDowell as Delilah “Del” Landry
  • Chyler Leigh as Katherine “Kat” Landry

  • Evan Williams as Elliot Augustine
  • Alex Hook as teenage Kat Landry
  • David Webster as teenage Elliot Augustine
  • Jefferson Brown as Colton Landry

2 Fan-Favorite Dramas Were Unexpectedly Cancelled This Week at Both Netflix and Prime Video—And It’s Concerning

Ride or Die and Sweet Magnolias Canceled

It’s been a brutal week for fans of two TV shows across Netflix and Prime Video.

Netflix cancelled Sweet Magnolias, ending the show’s five-season run, while Prime Video hit its newest action-drama Ride or Die with an abrupt and unexpected end.

Sweet Magnolias series creator and showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson paid tribute to the show on Instagram, writing: “Living in Serenity for five seasons has been a privilege and a blessing. The people I’ve met and worked with — our incredible writers, cast, crew, executives, and producers — have touched my heart and changed my life. And our fans have been amazing in their passion for our characters. Thank you all. Though our journey has sadly come to an end, I hope Serenity will always have a place in your heart. Keep pouring it out!”

The series, a feel-good romantic drama set in a small Southern town called Serenity, based on the book series by Sherryl Woods, followed three best friends—Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliot) and Helen (Heather Headley), as they navigated romance, family dynamics, careers, personal goals and dreams, and more with grace. It was a comfy, small-town series that felt like home more and more with each passing season, which is what makes the cancellation sting so much.

There’s not enough pouring it out to make it make sense, though; the dip in traffic each season is likely the reason behind Netflix’s decision, as viewership dropped 30% in the last season, per Deadline. It marked a much more severe drop-off than the one seen in Seasons 3 and 4, with only a 13% dip, as many fans complained there wasn’t enough advertising to make fans aware there even was a new season available in the first place.

Meanwhile, Prime Video pulled the plug on the Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham thriller after just one season, shocking fans, especially as the series had plenty of potential.

Both shows, though quite different in nature and premise, featured strong female leads and underscored the power of friendship.

Ride or Die’s lack of season 2 renewal was a big shock, particularly because it was so well received, as Deadline reports it immediately shot to No. 1 in the US and logged 927 views in just 2 days of its release.

Spencer, who played Debbie Claybourne, the best friend to Waddingham’s Judith Barton, who was a secret international assasin, took to Instagram, writing, in part, “Projects like this shouldn’t be the exception, they should be the rule! For all the women out there who felt seen, laughed out loud, lived out loud with Debbie and Judith, thank you. This was a fun one! Thank you Tessa Coates! Massive thank you to you, Jen Salke! You’ve always had exquisite taste!”

Parent Trap and Abbott Elementary actress Lisa Ann Walter commented what we’re all thinking, “They’re insane. Biggest hit prime has had in a minute,” while Ruby Rose added, “This is in the top 10 CRAZIEST cancellations of all time. This PROVES WE ARE NOT ON A REAL TIMELINE!”

And this, of course, follows the cancellation of Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly’s western rom-com Ransom Canyon after its second season, proving that absolutely nothing and no one is safe.

With so many shows across a plethora of streaming platforms—maybe we’ve just spread viewership too thin? I can’t be the only one who is fed up with paying $10+ for every single service, forced to pick and choose who I support and what I watch. But in the case of Ride or Die, even promising numbers didn’t sway the powers that be. With everything growing more expensive with each passing day in this economy, maybe this is a sign of the times? Will more shows that fans love and pour their heart and soul into suffer the same fate? Should we stop getting invested altogether?
