‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ Might Get Wrap-Up Movie at Roku

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist fans, your prayers are working!

The musical dramedy, which was canceled earlier this year, may finally get some closure.

According to TV Line, streaming player Roku is closing in on a deal for a two-hour wrap-up movie.

The outlet notes that if picked up, the finale movie would debut on The Roku Channel just in time for the holidays.

Even better… if the finale gets good ratings, the streamer might even order additional episodes.

EW reports that the series is in advanced negotiations, so it’s looking promising. The full cast, including Jane Levy and Skylar Astin, would likely return though deals would have to be finalized first.

This means that all the social media hashtags worked, but it’s kind of a bummer that NBC didn’t see the value of giving fans a proper ending.

And truthfully, leaving dedicated fandoms high and dry seems to be a common problem for the network — see Good Girls and Manifest. It almost makes me not want to get invested in any other shows out of the fear that they’ll be canceled just as they’re getting good!

I know there’s a lot that goes into renewals, including budgets that include cast salaries, but there has to be a better alternative than canceling shows and leaving fans with a plethora of questions.

When Timeless was canceled (still a huge mistake!), fans rallied and NBC agreed to a TV movie finale, which worked so well. It may not have been what the show creators envisioned, but at least it gave fans a chance to say a proper goodbye.

Why can’t we get wrap-up films for all the prematurely canceled shows? Especially since many of these shows hit Netflix and pick up a huge audience! Manifest continues to be one of the top 10 shows on Netflix!

Let’s hope that for the sake of Zoey’s fans that the deal with Roku goes through and come Christmas time, we’ll have a nice gift waiting for us!

When Does ‘Manifest’ Season 4 Part 2 Release on Netflix?

Published

Are you ready for Flight 828 to make its final descent?

On April 7, Netflix revealed the release date for the second half of the plane drama, along with a new teaser trailer to hold fans over.

Manifest Season 4 Part 2—all 10 episodes—will land on the streamer on Friday, June 2, 2023. For those that are keeping score, it’s a year ahead of the June 2, 2024 Death Date (so does this mean they find a way to beat it?!).

Netflix typically releases new episodes at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which means it will drop at 3:00 am Eastern and 2:00 am CT.

And according to the teaser trailer, things are just as ominous as we expected when we saw the final shot of Season 4 Part 1 of Angelina bringing forth destruction via volcanic fissures.

“The world is ending and we know when,” Josh Dallas’ Ben Stone remarks in the trailer as everyone emphasizes June 2 numerous times.

Here’s the full synopsis for the forthcoming final set of episodes.

“A mysterious accident delivers ominous warnings on a biblical scale that will further jeopardize the livelihood of all the passengers,” the synopsis reads. “As Michaela [Melissa Roxburgh] grieves the loss of her beloved husband Zeke [Matt Long], she must team up with her old flame Jared [J.R. Ramirez] to find new methods to investigate Callings.”

Watch the teaser below:

The end may be near, but there’s still plenty of story left to tell—and we hope that they do right by the ending, giving a satisfactory conclusion to longtime fans who have rallied behind the series from day 1 when it was still on NBC.
