Margo’s Got Money Troubles Recap Season 1 Episode 7 – The Most Brutal Entry Yet

Elle Fanning as Margo and Nicole Kidman as Lace in Margo's Got Money Troubles.

on

Elle Fanning’s new Apple TV series Margo’s Got Money Troubles just went from sexy aliens and hilarious wrestling scenes to absolutely heartbreaking in Episode 7, and it doesn’t look like things are about to improve anytime soon for titular lead Margo (Fanning), who is now facing many parents’ worst nightmare: A heated custody battle that is actively threatening her parental rights.

Episode 6 Set Up an Intense Custody Battle

Episode 6 of Margo’s Got Money Troubles ended with the shocking news that Mark (Michael Angarano) was suing Margo for full custody, despite the fact that he hadn’t been interested in his son Bodhi’s life from the minute Margo revealed that she was pregnant. In fact, Mark went to great lengths to make sure Bodhi’s existence didn’t affect him at all, even pressuring Margo to sign an NDA (which she signed) and agree to live Mark and his family alone (which she did).

However, after Margo’s Only Fans account was traced back to her, in spite of the heavy blue alien makeup that she had used to conceal her identity, Mark accused Margo of being an unfit mother and had her served with papers. Episode 7 picks up from that earth-shattering event, with Margo hiring Lace (Nicole Kidman) as her attorney. What ensues is a harrowing and, at times, genuinely horrifying, narrative arc in which things crumble not only for Margo but also for her family and friends.

Margo and Jinx Face Their Toughest Moments Yet

After consulting with Lace, Margo decides that she wants to pursue mediation with Mark rather than enter a full-blown custody case in court. During mediation, however, Mark reveals that the lawsuit isn’t a farce; he actually believes that she is an unfit mother, not only because of her Only Fans account—although that is a significant part of his argument—but also because of her financial instability and the fact that her father, Jinx (Nick Offerman), is living with her after assaulting Mark and breaking his hand.

Things go from bad to considerably worse when Jinx, who is recovering from substance use disorder, becomes distraught over what is happening to his daughter and his grandson and no doubt feels helpless if not partially responsible for how things have gone. In a truly brutal scene, Margo and her friend/roommate Susie (Thaddea Graham) find Jinx passed out in the tub with a heroin needle in his arm.

At first, they aren’t even sure if Jinx is still alive, and at one point, Margo gets stuck underneath Jinx, who remains unconscious in the tub, and nearly drowns. Ultimately, however, they are able to pull Jinx out and have him rushed to the hospital.

Margo’s Custody Case Is Only Getting Harder

Unfortunately, Margo only gets to experience the relief that Jinx is still alive very briefly. Both Susie and Lace tell Margo that there is no way she can allow Jinx to continue to live with her and Bodhi given that he just overdosed in their bathroom while Bodhi was home. Devastated, Margo does eventually kick her father out, but as they are returning to the apartment to collect Jinx’s things, they discover that CPS has just arrived to inspect both Bodhi and the home.

Jinx, Susie and Margo all suspect that this is Mark’s doing and that he has contacted CPS as a way to get ahead in the custody case, although the CPS worker explains that reports are confidential.

Not wanting to conceal anything out of fear that it would only make matters worse, Jinx informs the CPS worker that he just overdosed on heroin the night before, while Bodhi was home. Because of that, the CPS worker informs Margo, Jinx and Susie that all three must provide a urine sample for drug testing and explains that, if any one of them test positive, it will be a factor in their decision.

Jinx argues that he shouldn’t be tested as he is no longer living there, but the CPS worker insists that all three provide samples. The episode ominously ends with Jinx and Margo looking terrified over this news, suggesting that Jinx is not about the pass that test, which might mean very bad news for Margo’s custody case.

What’s Next for Margo’s Got Money Troubles?

Season 1, Episode 8 of Margo’s Got Money Troubles—the season 1 finale—will drop on Apple TV on May 20. Already, we know that the episode title is “Lock and Load,” and the description of the episode reads, “Margo has her day in court.” Presumably, this means that by the end of Episode 8, audiences will know whether Margo retains full custody, has to split custody 50/50 (which Lace explained was the most likely outcome because of California’s preferences) or loses custody.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles also hasn’t officially been renewed for Season 2, so it remains to be seen whether this story will continue on screen. Hopefully, the show is renewed based on the solid reception by audiences and critics alike, and hopefully, Margo manages to hold onto custody of Bodhi.

Will ‘Ted Lasso’ Have a Season 5? Here Are the Odds + Season 4 Ending Explained

Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 10 - Will Season 5 Happen

Ted Lasso was given a second life when the powers that be renewed the series for a fourth season after it originally ended after its planned 3-season run.

Caving to fan demand, the series returned for a fourth season, premiering in August 2026.

And on Oct. 7, 2026, the finale of the beloved soccer series aired, leading fans to wonder whether that’s the end of the road for Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond.

Here’s everything we know—spoilers from Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 10 below:

New Beginnings Are on the Horizon for the Cast

On Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 10, titled “Being Alive,” Mae’s death shook everyone in Ted Lasso’s orbit, reminding them that life was meant to be lived to the fullest.

Roy decided to accept a coaching job with Chelsea, which prompted Rebecca Welton to yell at him for a good five minutes before he reminded her that she was the person who encouraged him to take big risks and be courageous in the first place. And that’s what he was doing, as everything was changing around him, including his relationship with Keeley. They were going to be parents, so if not now, when?

Roy’s reminder to Rebecca came at the right time, as she realized she’d been too scared of her relationship with Matthijs going wrong instead of just giving in to the happiness.

When he arrived, she exclaimed, “f— it, marry me,” as he got down on one knee and accepted.

Meanwhile, Beard shaved his head, the final evolution in his evolving style this season as he aimed to get over Jane and her big, successful show about him.

Ted Lasso also offered Alice Chilton the manager position for the Lady Greyhounds, dropping down to “assistant manager” himself, a moment likely inspired by his heart-to-heart with Henry, during which he realized he wanted to be more present in his son’s day-to-day.

Rebecca and Leslie proved that they were always one step ahead of Zelda, buying the Milk’s sisters’ shares before getting 2% of Mae’s shares after her death, allowing her to have the majority ownership in Richmond. There was no way they were going to let it get into the wrong hands.

And Mae’s pub, the Crown and Anchor, is now owned by her frequent customers and die-hard Richmond fans—Basil “Baz,” Jeremy and Paul

Sadly, we didn’t see Ted get a new love interest, which is why I’m holding out hope for season 5! Also, we can’t go on this journey with Roy and Keeley without seeing them officially become parents.

Ted Lasso Season 5—Renewed or Cancelled?

Ted Lasso has not been renewed or cancelled yet, so it’s unclear if Ted Lasso Season 5 will happen.

However, it is looking bright, as Apple’s head of programming, Matt Cherniss, told Deadline in July, “Jason’s still hard at work on season four, and I know he’s looking to jump into the next season soon, but to my knowledge, I don’t think we’ve gotten started on it yet.”

That definitely sounds like he’s confident that Apple TV will give them another season, seemingly to wrap up storylines properly and give the people what they want!

Ted Lasso Season 4 Finale – How Did Ted’s Dad Die? Here’s What He Revealed About His Father in Season 2

Published

Ted Lasso How Did His Dad Die?

Ted Lasso’s Season 4 finale focused heavily on life, death and making the most of every minute—taking risks and living life to the fullest, largely inspired by the passing of Mae.

Some of the most emotional scenes, however, focused on Ted and his son, Henry, who took Mae’s death hard, as he’d developed a close bond with her during his time in England.

And Mae left her mark, even after death, as she gave pub regulars—Basil “Baz,” Jeremy and Paul–the Crown and Anchor following her death, while also relinquishing her 2% shares of AFC Richmond to Rebecca Welton so that whoever wanted to get control from her would, as she eloquently put it, “eat her arse.”

Her passing, however, also made Henry think about the death of his grandfather, Ted’s father, Jim Lasso, who died when he was around Ted’s age.

“Nana told me he fell down some steps and hit his head. Is that true?” he asked his father, who replied, “Um… well, yeah.”

Ted assured Henry that he was “good on the stairs,” hoping to ease his concerns, but the moment stuck with him, particularly since he lied to Henry about Jim’s death.

He asked Beard whether or not he made the right call, with Beard telling him that if it came from the right place, he probably did. But it wasn’t enough for Ted, as he knew Henry deserved the truth.

And he eventually mustered up the courage to share it with him.

Since audiences didn’t get to hear the father-son chat, the question of what happened to Ted’s dad became a hot search topic.

And it turns out, the series actually told us before, so it’s not a mystery, though it explains why Ted kept it close to his chest before finally working up the courage to share such a heavy reality with his teen son.

What Happened to Ted Lasso’s Dad?

Fans learned the truth about how Ted’s dad died back in Season 2, specifically, Episode 8. Ted confided the truth to the team’s therapist, Dr. Sharon Fieldstone, after seeing Jamie’s emotionally abusive father disrespect him in a locker room after a big match.

During that session, and after suffering a series of panic attacks leading up to it, Ted confides in her that his father died by suicide when he was around Henry’s age.

“My father killed himself when I was 16. That happened to me and, uh, to my mom,” he says in an emotional moment.

An episode later in the season, Episode 10, “No Weddings and a Funeral,” which features Rebecca Welton’s father’s funeral, marks a pivotal moment for Ted, as he reveals the resentment he feels toward his late father for what he did, admitting to Sharon that he didn’t attend his father’s funeral.

As for the reason, Ted felt that his father “quit.”

“You know, he quit on his family. He quit on himself. And I hated him for that. I think I still hate him for it.”

Ted told Sharon in more detail what happened to his father, stating, “Me and a bunch of high school buddies were gonna do a marathon of all them Jason movies that night. So I, you know, came home from school as usual and I went up to my room and — bang! I opened up the door and, there he was. [And I just] screamed. Choked. Cried. Ran upstairs, called 911. Went to the fridge, grabbed one of his Coors Lights. Drank that. Then I called my mom at work and let her know that she needed to come home.”

As Sharon apologized to Ted for what happened, he admitted that he still has love for him, adding that he was a “good man” and a “good dad.”

“I don’t think he knew that,” Ted acknowledged.

“Real chatterbox, believe it or not,” he expressed—a quality he seemingly inherited from him.

“I think if he would’ve known how good he was at stuff he didn’t really care about being good at, I don’t think he would’ve done what he did. And I wish I would have told him. I wish I would have told him more. I was just so angry at him cause he was always gone at work and out with friends or something, and then he was gone,” he confesses in the vulnerable moment.

The confession gives insight as to why Ted wrestled so fiercely with telling Henry the tough truth, knowing that simply being honest could have possible changed what happened. And he always wanted to talk with his father more, so he owed it to Henry to be the kind of dad he always wanted.

Viewers didn’t need to see the conversation between Ted and Henry to know he handled it with care.

For four seasons, we’ve seen him grapple and come to terms with his grief, which is part of the reason why he approaches people with genuine concern, love and understanding—no matter what they are going through—always meeting them right where they are when they’re ready.

Will ‘Widow’s Bay’ Return for Season 2? Ending Explained

Published

Widow's Bay Season 1

Widow’s Bay is getting even more attention as of late, ever since the first season of the Apple TV comedy-horror swept the Emmys!

The 10-episode first season aired from the end of April to mid-June this year, leaving fans on a bit of a cliffhanger as they anticipated whether or not a second season was in the works.

Here’s everything we know about whether Widow’s Bay will return for a second season—and what the season 1 ending means for season 2.

Will Widow’s Bay Return for Season 2?

Yes, there will be a second season of Widow’s Bay.

Apple TV officially renewed the hit comedy-horror series on June 11, 2026, just before the twisty and jaw-dropping season 1 finale.

And even if the series didn’t anticipate doing a second season, the fact that it set a record at the Emmys, winning across several categories for a total of 14 wins, marking the most of any single season of a TV comedy series in history, means you have to give the people what they want.

Of course, there’s always the risk that a second season might be too much, ruining the excellence that was season 1, but hopefully, it delivers on all the elements that made the first season such a hit. They set a high bar for themselves!

And there’s plenty of story left to tell, along with questions that remain unanswered.

“From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew, and the entire team have created,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming, Apple TV, on June 11. “It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we’re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it. We can’t wait to return for another season.”

When Does Production on Widow’s Bay Season 2 Start?

Matthew Rhys, who plays Mayor Tom Loftis, revealed that season 2 filming will begin in spring 2027, telling Al Roker during a Sept. 18 appearance on Today, “We start, I believe, April of next year, I think.”

Of course, that means we’re likely going to see a nearly two-year gap between seasons.

Deadline reported that a writers’ room was assembled in August 2026, which is good news!

Creator Katie Dippold told the outlet, “Week 3, feeling great. “I think it’s fun. With the groundwork laid in Season 1, they have a lot more room to grow in Season 2. I feel like I always look at Season 1 — what was really hard with that is having to lay all the groundwork. ‘Haunted Island’ sounds silly and terrible, honestly. I’m still happy they all signed up. It’s a tough pitch. I feel like a lot of groundwork was laid in Season 1 so you can buy it. So, it’s making Season 2 much more fun.”

For now, there is no official premiere date for Season 2.

Widow’s Bay Cast—Including a New Series Regular for Season 2

  • Matthew Rhys as Tom Loftis (mayor)
  • Kate O’Flynn as Patricia
  • Kevin Carroll as Bechir
  • Dale Dickey as Rosemary
  • Kylie McNeill as Kelly
  • Beck Nolan as PJ
  • Charles Van Flaherty as Gil
  • Christian Clemenson as Dr. Morgan
  • Kalala Kiwanuka-Woernle as Hannah
  • Hamish Linklater as Richard Warren
  • Olli Haaskivi as Ray

Deadline reported that Jeff Hiller, who plays Dale, an employee at the mayor’s office, will be upped to a series regular for the second season. And it only makes sense, as he’s one of the only people who has seen the archival footage of the terrifying sacrifices on the cursed island in the season 1 finale, which prompted him to tell everyone that “this place is a death trap, run,” while they were taking shelter in the storm bunker.

Hiller’s quirky and oddball nature meant that he’d often provide comedic energy as a scene-stealer, so keeping him around makes sense, especially as the town’s curse becomes common knowledge and plays a larger role. Unfortunately for Dale, it means that he wasn’t able to get off the island.

And all of this brings us to…

Widow’s Bay Season 1 Ending Explained—And What It Means for Season 2

The first season of Widow’s Bay built towards a finale that fully leaned into the show’s eerie and offbeat tone, emphasizing that something more sinister was simmering beneath the surface in the coastal town.

In the final episode, Mayor Tom Loftis finally began to understand that the strange events plaguing the town aren’t random and cannot be brushed off, especially as they have a direct connection to him.

Some residents seem more aware of the truth than others—though how much do they actually know? Dale is horrified watching the recruitment tape, but someone has to remember the sacrifices that were made. Some characters seem to only begin to realize the scope of what’s going on, meaning the town may be choosing who understands the truth and when.

Tom believes the only way to stop the island’s curse is to kill Ruth, the sweet elderly secretary who works for him, who he believes is the last living descendant of the town’s devilish founder, Richard Warren.

He tries to drug Ruth, but as the effects start to kick in, she drops a bombshell that changes everything—she had a secret child. And she watched that secret child grow up and marry… Tom. Ruth’s daughter is Tom’s late wife, Lauren, who suffered a sudden stroke and lost her vision as she tried to leave the island while pregnant, before eventually passing away in a psychiatric hospital, proving that original islanders and bloodline descendants cannot ever escape the island.

And since they had a son, Evan, he is the last true descendant, and while he’s alive, the curse continues. Sheriff Bechir arrives and shoots Ruth, believing it will stop everything to protect his unborn child from the curse, but Tom informs him she’s not the last descendant. He then lies and says he has no idea who is, clearly unable to sacrifice his own son for the greater good. The storm stops, however, leading him to think that maybe the curse was broken… until they hear the church bells ring again days later.

As Dale learned in his video, the island demands human sacrifices, and each bell toll represents one life, or as the recruitment video states, “one soul for each bell toll.”

No one knows why the storm stopped; however, town custodian Kenny became trapped in the hidden tunnel and was killed as a sacrifice while trying to help Evan and his friends, fulfilling the island’s demand for a short while.

Going into season 2, there’s plenty of unanswered questions, starting with what will Tom do? Who knows about Widow’s Bay’s sacrifices? Is there another way out? Why is the town cursed to begin with? Is there a chance that killing Evan won’t break the curse?
