Will Katy Keene Be Renewed for Season 2 at The CW?
Are we saying goodbye to Katy and friends forever? Dedicated fans are hoping that isn’t the case, but it’s hard to ignore that Katy Keene is one of the only current CW shows that hasn’t gotten a yay or nay in terms of season 2.
It’s unsettling to those who have adored the first season and want more of Katy’s adventures with her besties Jorge Lopez, Pepper Smith, and Josie McCoy.
The CW told Deadline it’s waiting a “few weeks” to make a decision because they hope streaming numbers will add on to “soft” linear ratings.
This will reportedly include streaming numbers from The CW’s online platform and views from HBO Max, which will begin airing the show at the end of the month.
The Lucy Hale-fronted drama is a spinoff of Riverdale and has been featuring plenty of fun crossovers, the likelihood that a renewal is coming is high. It’s also The CW’s fanciest offerings, though that doesn’t necessarily means it low on drama. The world of fashion can be very brutal and pushes Katy out of her comfort zone on plenty of occasions.
The series, which draws comparisons to Gossip Girl and The Carrie Diaries, aired 13 episodes in season 1.
If it does score a renewal, the series will likely be pushed to the spring 2021 lineup or even the fall 2021-2022 lineup. The CW just announced its fall 2020-2021 lineup which bypassed many of their scripted prime offerings due to coronavirus shutting down production indefinitely.
Instead, the network will rely on the final season of Supernatural, which was finalized prior to the pandemic, and newly acquired series such as DC’s Swamp Thing and CBS All Access’ Tell Me a Story.
Shows like Riverdale, Nancy Drew, Batwoman, and Legacies, are being pushed back to a January 2021 premiere.

When Is Season 3 of ‘Ginny and Georgia’ Coming Out?

Ginny and Georgia centers on the heartwarming yet extremely complicated bond between a mother and her daughter after they put down roots in a New England town.
With so many compelling storylines and incredible characters of all ages, it’s no wonder that the coming-of-age drama has become a fan favorite among Netflix audiences.
The second season of Ginny and Georgia premiered on Jan. 5, 2023, which means that a third season is likely far off, especially considering Brianne Howey, who plays Georgia, just announced her first pregnancy, which will possibly delay filming.

Of course, Netflix has to renew the series for a third season. As of March 28, 2023, it has not given the show a green light for additional episodes.
Fans shouldn’t be too worried, however, as a renewal is very likely considering the show’s performance, the rabid fan base, and the fact that season 3 ended on such a cliffhanger—Netflix knows that fans will be clamoring for another season to see how the situation resolves itself.
As for a premiere date, well, there isn’t one just yet. Until the series is renewed and production begins, it’s a bit too difficult to come up with a date for new episodes. The season could likely arrive in February 2024 if we’re looking at the previous premieres for both seasons 1 and 2, which both debuted at the start of 2021 and 2023, respectively.
But with Howey’s pregnancy thrown into the mix, that could delay things a bit, and it wouldn’t be the worst thing if the series returned during the summer when there’s a lull in content and fans are seeking out something to binge-watch and get invested in.
Either way, when Netflix makes an official decision, you’ll be the first to know as we’ll update this article accordingly!
Until then, you can gear up for the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Riverdale, and Firefly Lane!

You can check out the new trailer for the upcoming season, dubbed “This is it, this is the big break,” below:
“I want a big life, I want to break every single rule there is,” Midge can be heard saying in the first few seconds of the trailer, setting the scene for what fans can expect from the last hurrah.
Scenes woven through the fast-paced trailer—though not faster than Midge’s dialogue—reveal that she’s achieved what she’s set out to as she signs autographs and Suzy gets properly fitted for a suit. They do face some setbacks, however, as we see Midge breaking down in the bathroom, Joel closing a door looking distraught, and Abe lamenting that no one who has ever accomplished anything of worth is ever happy.
While there’s sadly no Lenny Bruce sighting throughout the trailer, fans will be pleased to know that Milo Ventimiglia makes a return, though it’s unclear what role he’ll play in Midge’s life moving forward—and the train door closing on him is not a promising sign.
